Carrie + Charlie :: A Sexy Retro Car Themed Portrait Session~!

Carrie + Charlie have been wonderful clients and friends for years now. It all started with their wedding and now we get to do super cool sessions like this one for their anniversaries.

This concept was their idea. It was something very important to them. For the past 91 years, The Vinsetta Garage has been a functioning auto garage. It closed it’s doors and waas listed for sale at the end of 2010. Most who were familiar with the icon, were terrified that it would be torn down and replaced with a new generic building. However, the same people that brought us the amazing Clarkston Union are turning the garage into a restaurant (yes! it will have mac + cheese!). They say that the exterior will remain mainly the same, keeping the old garage vibe. Very cool. Let’s face it though, just that mac + cheese is enough to be labeled very cool ~ side note: if you have not bee to the Clarkston Union and tried that mac + cheese, do it asap.

So anyways,  Carrie + Charlie are super awesome and hot and happy and friendly and photogenic, so I know going into a shoot with them that it won’t be like work, it will just be fun and easy. This was no different. As soon as I point a camera at these two something magical happens. They make me love my job and photography more than I did before I pointed my camera at them.  That’s powerful.

A very special thanks to my friend Andy for helping me out on this special session.

Kendra + Bob :: the engagements

Kendra and Bob are super awesome. I had not had the chance to meet them since they booked me from out of town. They were hilarious, easy going, laid back, not afraid of the camera (or me!) and so easy to talk to. Bob had about 1,000 different “looks” to work off of and constantly made each pose his own. Not too common for a dude at a photo session, but a very welcome change! They are getting married at the end of May and I cannot wait to spend a whole day with them!

The Scotts Mega Awesome Metro Airport Engagement Portraits~!

The Scotts. I don’t even know where to begin about these 2 – I heart them SO much!

They are both named Scott. One is little and one is big. So they go by Big and Little. Adorable? Check.

For their engagement session they wanted to go to the airport, specifically, the McNamara Terminal. Well, you cannot just mosey into the airport with photography equipment and expect to get very far. So Little spent what felt like months going back and forth between the Westin and the TSA to arrange this. And it finally paid off.

This is probably one of the coolest, most unique sessions I have been a part of. There was SO much to shoot there. We started at the Westin. That hotel is perfection for a portrait session. Then into the terminal. After an odd and semi lengthy time at security with my giant rolling light, we were in. Amazing. My favorite spot has to be that strange light up tunnel. Those shots came out amazing.

Scotts – thank you for this idea and letting me be a part of it :) I heart you.

Rachel + Lorin’s Super Fun Engagement Portraits~!

I hadn’t met Rachel or Lorin before their engagement session, which is always kind of interesting. You never know what to expect. But they arrived and I was quite pleased with not only who they were as people and as a couple, but their casual choice of wardrobe for the shoot. You can just tell from looking at the images, that this is who  they really are and that they were pretty darn comfortable!

Ellen + Matts Adorable Engagement Session~! (royal oak engagement portraits)

Ellen + Matt are adorable. They came in professing how awkward and terrible they were at being photographed.

LIARS!

Together, they are comfortable, cuddly, cute and so in love.

I can’t wait for their April wedding at The Gem Theatre!
