When Ellen contacted us about shooting some portraits at the Frank Lloyd Palmer House in Ann Arbor, I could barely contain my excitement~! Nate and I are HUGE FLW lovers and have never had the opportunity to visit one of his houses.
Ellen + Sean were getting married that day at the house with a small 5 person ceremony (including them and the officiant!). We didn’t photograph the wedding part, just these incredible posed images of the two of them. The Palmer House, which was built in the early 1950′s, is such a breathe taking home and grounds. We could have spent all day there creating incredible images all around the house and gardens and grounds.
Ellen + Sean did a fan job coordinating their wardrobe and accessories to the home and era without being too theme-y. The monochromatic print on Ellens white dress was very Frank Lloyd Wright-y and the asymmetrical neck line was undoubtedly an FLW attribute. Seans tie had a very usonian print on it and his cuffed pant legs were also quite ’50′s.
Nate and I had such an incrediobnle time with these two, laughing and exploring and creating. It was their first time in a FLW home as well as the four of us were like little kids taking it all in. It was such a pleasure to share that experience with 2 such awesome people.
So, you can rent this house. Like a hotel or maybe more like a B&B I guess. It’s not even that expensive! Check out it’s site here for some great architectural photography of the home and rental info!
