Jamie + Jay Have the Best Wedding Ever~!

Reception Location ~  Dossin Great Lakes Museum, Belle Isle, Detroit

DOC ~ Shelly from Simplicity

Shuttle ~  Royal Transportation

Videographer ~  Pouya Dianat (friend of the couple)

Florist and chair rental ~  Blumz

Bakery ~  Achatz Pie Company

Officiant ~  Judge Sullivan

Caterer ~  Golden Spice Catering

Music ~ Detroit Party Marching Band

OMG.

I mean, really.

Jamie + Jay blew me away with everything I want weddings to be. Not afraid to do what felt right, what they loved and what they wanted, this wedding was a direct reflection of exactly who these two are. They should write a wedding planning book about not doing traditional boring wedding stuff just because it’s traditional.

A blue, ankle length vintage dress from etsy? OMG! I hand made bird cage veil? OMG! Mismatched socks? Yes!

Not only did we do super rad posed pics @ the Heidelberg Project, but the ceremony was there too! Didn’t know that was possible? Me either. But the most exciting thing ever.

A hipster marching band for ceremony music? Awesome! Paying them with a sousaphone? Incredible.

A meal of all vegetarian foods? YAY!

I can’t really say enough or anything really to get the point across about what this wedding was. Let’s let the images do that.

Anna + Brian Get Hitched, Lansing Style~!

ceremony ~ Okemos Prebyterian Church

reception ~ County Club of Lansing

DJ ~ Tunes by T

cake ~ Naomi Batterbee

florist ~ B&A Florist

Once again, the glorious Michigan weather promised storms all day. We were bummed. Even if all indoors, you never want to have to deal with rain on a wedding day. Well, just like almost every other time it was fore-casted to storm all day, it was a beautiful blue and white sky with no rain at all!

This was Dream Cruise weekend. We were more than happy to leave town and go to Lansing. Living off Woodward is not fun at  Dream Cruise time :)

Anna + Brian love to love each other. It was so evident. They have a love and an energy that radiates out. I had taken so many images of Anna getting ready, way more than normal, because she was always smiling, laughing and enjoying her day. I learned late that Nate had shot way more images than normal of Brian as well, for the same reasons. It was refreshing to work with a couple who was just so happy to get married that everything else would just fall into place, and if it didn’t, at least they were together.

The church was one of  the brightest churches we’ve ever been in – which is a great thing for photography! It was awesome. The Country Club of Lansing was beautiful as well. We didn’t have much time there for posed images, but if we ever go back, I know a few great spots for terrific shots now!

Jodie + Dan’s Ann Arbor Wedding Extravaganza~!

ceremony + reception ~ Webers Inn

day of coordinator ~ Kelly @ Frosted Pink Events

cake ~ Cake Nouveau

florist ~ Enchanted Florist

DJ ~ Wayne Kinny @ Rock Out Entertainment

Jodie + Dan. What to say about this incredible, unique and hilarious couple.

I have a feeling that we will know Jodie + Dan for a long time. We enjoyed our time with them so much. Their unique take on things and complete disregard for doing things the “right” way, speaks to us like you’ll never know.

The wedding was such an extension of who they are, which is what every wedding should be. Jodie wore hot pink (like 80′s day glo pink) Converse. She had a radtastic feather headpiece instead of a veil. The bouquets were half flowers and half feathers. Jodie has a tattoo sleeve on one arm. I mean, come on! This is a couple who makes their own rules and enjoys every minute of it!

We went down to graffiti alley for bridal party photos. Rumor had it that the graffiti had been painted over, but as you can see in the images, that is NOT true! What a killer spot for photos for a couple like this. Maybe it’s been done a lot, maybe it’s not the most original idea, but when you have a Jodie + Dan, you go to graffiti :)

The ceremony was serioulsy 3 minutes. When she told me 3 minutes, she was spot on. We got what we needed though and again, a 3 minute ceremony is SO them.

The reception was decorated super awesome! Black and pink. Feathers. LOVE it. There was the cake. Our second Star Wars cake creation from Cake Nouveau. I think we may specialize in Star Wars weddings now :) There were also cupcakes with tiny hand made fondant light sabers. The reception featured 2 Wii stations. Wii. At the reception. AWESOME!

So yeah, we loves this wedding. This wedding was Jodie + Dan, but it was also us. That doesn’t happen a lot and we appreciated so much feeling at home and being welcomed by people who I know will become our friends.

Lauren + Seans Epic Detroit and Lovett Hall Wedding~!

ceremony ~ Divine Child, Dearborn MI

reception ~ Lovett Hall @ The Henry Ford

DJ ~ Tim Stolkey of Mike Staff

videographer ~ Mike Staff

cake ~ Elite Sweets

florist ~ Bellasarios

Epic. I can’t think of a better word for this wedding. It was an epic 12 hour day for us. That’s just what happens when you have an early ceremony. It also means that you have all the time in the world for rad posed images.

We started in Dearborn at the church, went to Detroit (Comerica, Fox area) for posed pictures with the bridal party, and then headed back to Dearborn @ Lovett Hall for more incredible posed pics and the epic reception.

Lauren + Sean:  we are in love with you. You are the one of the kindest, most caring couples that we have ever worked with. We wish you nothing but the bestest ever life together.

Cathy + Chris Royal Park Hotel Wedding~!

ceremony + reception ~ The Royal Park Hotel

DJ ~ Eric Hodge @ Mike Staff

florist ~ Sams Florist

officiant ~ Rev. Goodrum

cake ~ Christines Cakes

Cathy+ Chris had the perfect wedding day. It was hot, but not as hot as it has been, and the rain held off until right before the ceremony (which was indoors!). Their ceremony was in the Conservatory @ The Royal Park Hotel and it was pouring rain which was super rad and dramatic considering the whole room is made of windows!

Being incredible laid back and easy to work with, Cathy + Chris gave us all the time we needed to create gorgeaous portraits of them around the hotel. My favorite is the shot inside with the reflection in the floor!

Eric Hodge from Mike Staff got the reception going and they had some crazy dancers on that floor!
