Dana + Jon Got Married!

ceremony + reception : Pine Knob Carriage House

cake : Elite Sweets

DJ : J&J Sound Entertainment

florist : The Parsonage

We have been looking forward to this for quite a while! Sometimes as photographers we get the opportunity to work with people that we love spending time with. Dana and Jon are one of those couples. Not afraid to do things a little differently, the ceremony and reception were refreshingly unique. The Parsonage florist did an amazing job bringing in the outdoors to the Carriage House. I love the use of sticks and twigs in weddings!

Dana getting ready:

Jon gets ready alllllll the way across town:

Dana got a tattoo of their wedding date in roman numerals. How cool is that!?:

Posed images at Pine Knob. All the posed shots were done before the ceremony:

Such a beautiful sky:

I adore this shot:

This tree had leaves the color of the wedding. It was perfect!:

Dana and her dad wait to walk down the aisle:

Ceremony inside the pavilion:

Dana is short. Jon is tall. He picked her during their first kiss:

Again, short plus tall. Jon knelt down to dance with Dana during their first dance!:

And then swung her all around:

Rings in personalized M&M’s!:

Kristine + Ryan!

ceremony : St. Ambrose Church

reception : Detroit Yacht Club

cake : Blooming Bakery

DJ : Michigan Wedding DJ

Kristine and Ryan are cool people. They are such cool people that they had a 100 member bridal party! No, it wasn’t really that big, but it was BIG.

They like to have fun, and that’s what they did on their wedding day. We went to Hart Plaza and Lafayette Coney Island for photo taking fun.  Then Kristine and Ryan took a sail boat to their reception at the DYC! How fun!

Kristine’s dad helping her into the church:

Trolley limo!:

Could we love Hart Plaza more? No.:

At this point, I am sure everyone knows my thoughts on cathedral veils. They are the super best!:

From the sail boat. I think this is pretty awesome:

First dance:

Cutest cake ever! Seriously, I was so pleased when I saw this sitting there. Little birdies + grass = adorable cake! This is how do a white cake and not make it boring:

Head table centerpieces were all sorts of glass vases and candle holders. It was stunning:

Stacy + Jonathan Tied the Knot!

ceremony + reception venue : 30 North

DOC : Amanda from Bliss Weddings

cake : Pronto!

DJ : Fletcher from Music Box

flowers : Clever Bumblebee

It was a good weekend.

Stacy + Jonathan were a dream for us. I can’t begin to explain how important it is to be trusted by the couples we work with. After shooting their engagement session, I think Stacy and Jonathan knew they could trust us – and they did – and it paid off! Seeing each other before the ceremony gave them the opportunity to walk around downtown Pontiac for a bit for some awesome photos! 30 North was the perfect setting for their wedding because there is something very vintage about them.

Stacy’s dress hanging in the “bank presidents office” (30 North is so cool!):

I LOOOOVE this show shot:

Simply beautiful:

Jon looking handsome:

OK, so she walks down those stairs to see him for the first time. She taps him on the shoulder. He turns around. He makes this face. He was so excited to see her. I adore this:

This is very reminiscent of one of their engagement shots that I loved. The city backdrop combined with the silhouette is so pretty.

Having fun around downtown Pontiac with walls and alleys:

I think this is super-out-of-control adorable:

The bridal party:

Stacy’s walk down the aisle:

A first dance shot that I am really loving:

The hora, a Jewish tradition, is scary and fun:

Another not white cake! This year rocks! Pronto! in Royal Oak made this. It was delicious!:

I want to know where this cake topper came from. It is so cute! Rings on cake topper:

Tiana + Thomas Tied the Knot!

ceremony + reception : Antheneum Hotel

DJ + video: Mike Staff

flowers: Vivianos

Tiana + Thomas are mod4 royalty from now on. They were the perfect couple for us. It was meant to be. They took their posed images before the ceremony and gave us a good amount of time to create some super cool images.

Tiana looking beautiful:

All the posed photos were done before the ceremony, which we love!:

I heart this one a LOT:

dirty alleys are one of our favorite places to shoot:

tops of parking garages is our other favorite place to shoot!:

I love the expression on her face here. She is having so much fun during their 1st dance:

They are so lucky to have gotten daytime sky shots (above) AND night time sky shots! No one gets that. Ever. The best thing about the Antheneum is that they take you out to the roof for awesome night shots!:

Rings on something (I forget what it was!):

Beth + Keith :: Wear the Dress

Maybe you’ll remember my post about Beth + Keiths wedding and how we were “interrupted” during our kick ass photo shoot at the abandoned building in Eastern Market. We never got to finish what was going to be some killer shots, so we went back for a Wear the Dress session! They rented a tux, got a bouquet and got all dolled up again! This is cool. We finally got to finish our session!

These sessions are such an incredible chance to get portraits you never could or were just scared to on your wedding day.

This is a favorite:
